My cousins from Italy recently came for a visit. We agreed to meet at Mike’s in Davis Square. Alfonso and his wife and three kids showed up and we did hugs and introductions. They did well taking the Red Line to Davis.

We sat down and looked at the menu. I was surprised that the three kids all ordered pasta dishes and they seemed to eat a lot. How would Mike’s pasta compare with authentic Italian cuisine? By the way they dug in I’d say it was very satisfying for them. They’re food looked so good that yesterday I ordered the shrimp scampi for myself. It was very delicious. Mike’s passed the Italian food test with flying colors.

Alfonso’s wife’s name is Rosella, Valeria 16, David 14, and Aurora, 9. Alfonso showed me some great photos of our relatives from generations back.

They were also going to meet some other cousins too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit with my Italian cousins. They seem to enjoy Davis Square and Mike’s restaurant, which will always remind me of our visit.

My cousins from Italy experienced New York gridlock traffic, a whale watch in Plymouth and good old Davis Square. It was an epic visit. Arrivederci!
