Police responded to a reported domestic violence incident at a Boston Ave. residence last week.

Upon arrival, the alleged victim reportedly told officers that she had been in an altercation with her father, Robert Kneeland, 61, who she said was intoxicated and had grabbed her violently by the arm and raised his fist towards her in a threatening manner.

Flooding on Kingman Road has been a chronic problem for residents through the years. They are looking to city officials to seek relief from the ongoing dilemma.

Donning belled green and red caps and huddled cheerfully in front of the World War I stone monument in Union Square, a group of fourth through eighth graders from the Albert F. Argenziano school sang a variety of Christmas carols, from Jingle Bells to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer last  Wednesday afternoon.

With 28 points and an astounding 19 rebounds, senior forward John Lubin led the host Somerville boys’ basketball team to a convincing 73-56 win over non-league foe Newton South last week, as the Highlanders improved to 2-0 on the campaign.

The convoy of over two hundred police cruisers met at the Burlington Mall and throughout the route from Massachusetts to Virginia.Left to right: Jason Costa, Lt. Several weeks ago the Somerville Police Department learned about the dying wish being made from six-year-old Nathan Norman, who is fighting brain cancer, and is from Rustburg, Virginia.

Eagle Feathers #16 –New Year – New Beginnings

Next week, New Year’s Day, 2013 arrives. As we complete the 13th year of the new millennium and begin the next, a flag with 13 stripes representing the 13 original colonies will be raised in Somerville. The annual re-enactment commemorates January 1, 1776, where the first American flag was raised on Prospect Hill.

A new year brings us thoughts of recommencement, fresh starts, and evaluating what we have experienced and accomplished in the recent past.

It is a time for both reflection and consideration of what must be done in the year ahead of us. It’s a great opportunity for advancing our general well being, should we choose to embrace the spirit it embodies.

A juvenile, December 18, 10:00 a.m., arrested at 91 Highland Ave. on a charge of witness intimidation.
