Find out what the residents of Somerville are cooking, eat homemade food and enjoy the final weeks of warm weather at the Potluck in the Park series.

Throughout the month of October, join Mayor Joe Curtatone and the rest of the community for three potluck events in three different city parks. The goal of the Potluck series is to give community members a venue to become friendly with one another by sharing stories, ideas, recipes, and homemade food.

The series will kickoff at Lexington Park in Ward 5 on Saturday, Oct. 2. Attendants are invited to bring their favorite dish, dessert, or snack, and sample other neighborhood favorites.

“The Mayor is looking forward to meeting with all members of the community, and to sharing an afternoon of food and family fun,” Jackie Rossetti, Deputy Director of Communications, said. “Most of our annual events are full of activity and don’t lend a lot of time to speaking with the Mayor and getting to know your neighbors from each section of the city.”

The second and third potlucks will take place at Foss Park and Perry Park. Every gathering will be on a Saturday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. “As the Potluck events grow in size, we may revisit our plans for each one down the road,” Rossetti said.
