Loss Prevention personnel at the K-MART store on Middlesex Avenue got more than they bargained for when they detained an alleged shoplifter last Sunday, according to reports.

Aniello Tiberi, 75, of Medford, was reportedly spotted putting a CD in his pocket and was stopped as he tried to leave the store.

While awaiting the arrival of police, Tiberi allegedly pulled a pocketknife on store employees and reportedly bit one of them.

He was eventually disarmed and charged with shoplifting by asportation and assault with a dangerous weapon.
