The Elderfair Health and Wellness fair was back in full swing this year. The event took place on Tuesday at the Healey Elementary School in Somerville.  Hundreds of Somerville and Cambridge elders arrived and enjoyed a fun filled day of medical and elder service exhibits, health information gathering, entertainment and a hardy lunch.

(L to R) Lions Jimmy DelPonte, Bill Tauro, Ann Sabbey, John O'Leary, Ed Ciampa and Gene Brune.

The Somerville and Cambridge Lions Club’s Eyemobile was also on scene providing elders with free eye, hearing, blood pressure and health screenings. Somerville Lions President Bill Tauro, Somerville Lions Gene Brune, Jimmy DelPonte, Ed Ciampa,  Lion Larry Murphy and Cambridge Lion President Ann Sabbey were among the volunteers who were conducting the free eye exams.  The expo is an annual event that helps our local elderly raise awareness in the health field and what’s available to them.
