Two arrested for drug deal on West Somerville street corner

Drug unit detectives watching a West Somerville street corner witnessed a drug deal April 5, police said.

Police said they saw a hand to hand exchange between Steven Aiello, 30, of 38 Prichard Ave., and Jaril Gauthier, 36, of 1302 Sandy Lane, Wilmington, at the corner of Kidder and Prichard Ave. Police said they learned the corner was being used as a site for drug dealing.

Aiello immediately took off running as officers approached but was apprehended, police said. Police allegedly found 10 percocet and five methadone tablets on Gauthier and $1,618 in cash and oxycodone pills on Aiello.

Aiello was charged with conspiracy to violate a drug law, distribution of a class B drug and drug violation near a school or park. Gauthier was charged with conspiracy to violate a drug law, distribution of a class B drug and drug violation near a school or park.
