The festivities will begin with music and cultural performances honoring the creation of the Haitian flag. Throughout the afternoon, attendees can enjoy live music, traditional dance, art, food, and interactive activities that showcase the enduring pride, resilience, and contributions of the Haitian people. The event also offers space to learn about Haiti’s pivotal role in global Black liberation movements.

Festival highlights include

  • Music by DJ Soro
  • Traditional crafts and art exhibits
  • Family-friendly activities, including a bounce house

“The Haitian Flag Festival is more than a celebration, it’s a proud reminder of our resilience, our culture, and our unity as a people,” said Metushael Jacques, President of the Haitian Service Providers Coalition. “We invite everyone to join us in honoring Haiti’s rich heritage and the vibrant spirit that continues to inspire generations.”

The Haitian Flag Festival is part of the Somerville Arts Council’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural celebration through public programming.
