Tours available February 11-12 for the Somerville community and prospective families

Somerville High School (SHS) and Somerville Public Schools invite all interested community members to visit during one of three Open House events on February 11 and February 12. Staff will provide an overview presentation on the state of the art facility before students lead community members on a walking tour of the building.

City buildings will be closed Monday, January 19, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. day. Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day beginning Monday.

James “Jim” M.  Loughran, age 86, of Dedham, passed away peacefully at home, on January 12, 2026, with his wife of 61 years, Ruth A. (Higginbotham) Loughran and children by his side.
