On 3/13/23 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Somerville Police responded to a residence on Thurston St. for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated the house is under renovation and several copper plumbing valves were stolen.

Somerville Hazardous Waste collection resumes Saturday, April 1

Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the Somerville Department of Public Works (DPW) wish to remind residents that beginning Saturday, April 1, Somerville residents can once again drop off household hazardous waste at the DPW yard on designated days. Drop offs are accepted on the first Saturday of each month, April through November, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the DPW yard (1 Franey Rd.).

Yego Coffee brings fresh grounds straight from Rwanda

A new shop in Teele Square, Yego Coffee, opened its doors for the first time last week.

For the co-owning couple, Francois and Fatuma Tuyishime, things are off to a strong start. “A lot of people came on the first Saturday. It was almost overwhelming,” Francois Tuyisheme said, gesturing that the line started out the door. “And it never stopped.”
