Community members invited to learn more at informational sessions beginning January 24
Applying for affordable housing opportunities can be a daunting and time-consuming process that can prevent those most in need of below market units from accessing them, so the City of Somerville is working to make the process easier with a new Consolidated Waitlist. The list will allow one application to be filed for all eligible upcoming affordable rental housing opportunities rather than requiring individual applications for each project.

City of Somerville Mayor, Katjana Ballantyne and the Somerville Police Department welcome two new police officers. Officer Jonathan Martins and Officer Keighla McAloney recently graduated from the MPTC Lynnfield Police Academy and were sworn in on Wednesday.

Haitian artist Charlot Lucien’s “Dreams of the Ancestral Drum” exhibition is currently on display at the Armory ROOTED Café.
The Armory ROOTED Café is hosting an exhibition by Haitian artist Charlot Lucien titled Dreams of the Ancestral Drum now through February 12, with a reception with the artist on February 4 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
