“We will be completing our team in the Mayor’s Office basically right on day one hundred, where we’ll be filling the final piece of the puzzle,” said Mayor Wilson. “The executive administrative assistant who’s gonna do a lot of my scheduling.”

Come visit the Winter Hill Brewing Company this Saturday, April 11, from 12 p.m. to closing. The taproom will be hosting a party to celebrate 10 years in business.

The brewery, located at 328 Broadway, will have a couple of beer releases, food specials, fun merchandise, great vibes, and will feature folk-rock band, the NightBlinders, from Manchester, New Hampshire, at 8 p.m.

Every year the cost of housing marches upward, driving families out of Somerville. In response, Mayor Wilson has promised to support the creation of subsidized affordable housing in Somerville, especially in transit-rich neighborhoods and in projects that exceed the 20% affordability minimum required by our Inclusionary Zoning rules. Right now, our community has a proposal for a building that combines transit access with greater affordability: Copper Mill’s Davis Square project.

On Friday, April 10, GLOWBALL will transform the Armory Performance Hall into an immersive Rave created by DJ WhySham and visual projectionist Jay Medina, all in support of The Center for Arts at the Armory. GLOWBALL is an “anti-gala”—there will be no speeches, presentations, or auction. There will be pop-up performances by Sean Bjerke and RHOUSE Dancers; The House of Nahdra, AfroFuture Fashion Portal, and Circus 617. This year’s honorees: Ellen Waylonis, Lifetime Achievement Award; Willie Burnley, Community Arts Advocate; and Wendy Jehlen, Outstanding Artist.
