Come visit the Winter Hill Brewing Company this Saturday, April 11, from 12 p.m. to closing. The taproom will be hosting a party to celebrate 10 years in business.

The brewery, located at 328 Broadway, will have a couple of beer releases, food specials, fun merchandise, great vibes, and will feature folk-rock band, the NightBlinders, from Manchester, New Hampshire, at 8 p.m.

“I hope people recognize us as a neighborhood spot with a strong sense of community,” said Bert Holdredge, co-owner of WHBC. “People come in here regularly and get to know each other.”

WHBC offers a wide selection of food, beer, and coffee. The taproom brews unpretentious beers in small batches, offering a blend of German and American-style beers from juicy New England IPAs to crisp pilsners. Beers range from $7 to $9, depending on style and strength.

“I have two special beers that were brewed for the occasion,” said Holdredge. The first beer, named Forever and Counting, is a barley wine – a full-bodied beer with a high alcohol content of 10%. The second beer is called Decade of Dominance, an 8% double IPA.

WHBC is a coffee shop by day, serving Broadsheet espresso, drip, and iced coffees, 7 days per week, and a restaurant with an in-house kitchen making seasonally inspired food with locally sourced ingredients.

The lunch and dinner menus are a collection of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and sides that pair well with beer. Breakfast sandwiches are available weekdays. On Sundays, they offer brunch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Currently, WHBC serves 8 rotating beers, but may be expanding to 12 lines, he said. They have applied for a full alcohol license and hope to soon serve wine and cocktails.

“I think it will make us a lot more appealing to people within the neighborhood,” said Holdredge.

The taproom is open Tuesday – Sunday, and the coffee bar is open every day. Head Chef Ian Ballantyne a.k.a. Brother Ian, caters events of over 15 people, offering an assortment of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and snacks.
