A 21-year-old Somerville man went on a car break-in spree early Saturday morning, stealing religious icons, GPS units, prescription pills and more, police said. Tyler Burgess, of 87 Highland Rd., was caught running out of the driveway at 213 Cedar St. as a victim shouted to police, "That's him. He's the guy who broke into my car," according to police. |

A survey has been put online asking residents to choose from nine budget priorities, and also seeks opinions on how services can be improved without increasing costs. |

By George P. Hassett As 10 city employees lose their jobs, Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone is reshuffling his City Hall staff. Mike Buckley is returning as an administrative assistant to Curtatone, replacing Matt Dias, who is moving up to director of Traffic and Parking on July 1. Dias replaces former Acting Police Chief Bob Bradley. Buckley, who previously worked as highway superintendent for the city, returns to Curtatone's office after a stint as chief of staff to Everett Mayor Carlo Di Maria. |

Timothy Springer, 30, of 11 Burnside Avenue, 2:39 a.m., arrested and charged with breaking and entering for a misdemeanor. Neil Berwick, 28, of 41 Crescent St., Charlestown, 10:16 p.m., arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. |
