A 21-year-old Somerville man went on a car break-in spree early Saturday morning, stealing religious icons, GPS units, prescription pills and more, police said. Tyler Burgess, of 87 Highland Rd., was caught running out of the driveway at 213 Cedar St. as a victim shouted to police, "That's him. He's the guy who broke into my car," according to police. |

Burgess initially tried to flee on a bicycle but officers ordered him to the ground, police said. His clothes were weighed down by a large amount of coins in his pocket, police said.
Police allegedly found three folding knives, sunglasses, two GPS units, a credit card, a food stamp card and a bottle of prescription pills in Burgess' back pocket.
As police cuffed Burgess, they were approached by three more victims whose cars had allegedly been broken into during Burgess' spree. Burgess was arrested and charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle in the nighttime for a felony, possession of a dangerous weapon and receiving stolen property over $250.
