You say you never heard of The Waldorf Restaurant (it was more like a cafeteria)? Well, that’s because you are either too young or you haven’t lived in this area very long, or both. By very long, I mean the last 33 years or so, because that’s at least how long The Waldorf has been gone. Today, on its former site stands Mike’s Restaurant. Because we couldn’t find any photos, I’m relying on my social media friends to try to recreate images of the old eatery. As far as we can remember, the front was stainless steel, with black and maroon accents.

A community forum to be held on March 3 will allow the public to engage with city representatives and designers of Somerville’s new school.
The city is planning to build a new school at 115 Sycamore Street. All community members are invited to come learn more about the project and share their perspective at an upcoming community forum on Tuesday, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Somerville High School’s Highlander Forum.

The arts have always played a significant role in David Palmquist’s life. Even while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, his passion for art never faltered. His passion was nurtured further after moving to Boston, when he joined Vernon Street Studios in 2005. Since Palmquist took residency at Vernon Street Studios, he has had multiple exhibitions with the Copley Society, Somerville Open Studios, and others.
