Rebecca Kenneally, singer and conductor, is Chair of the Performing Arts Department and Choral Director at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, and director of the Old North Church Youth Choirs Director in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Kenneally conducts the choirs at Music at Port Milford Chamber Music Festival in Ontario, Canada, where she is also a faculty soprano soloist. She sings regularly in recitals and has many theater directing credits. Kenneally holds degrees in voice and conducting from Northwestern University and The New England Conservatory of Music.

Deceased male found in Mystic River

Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan has confirmed that at approximately 6:30 p.m. tonight a passerby reported seeing the body of a deceased male in the Mystic River near the intersection of Shore Drive and Ten Hills Road in Somerville. State Police subsequently removed that body from the water.

Cambridge hit and run

Middlesex County District Attorney Ryan and Cambridge Police Commissioner Haas have confirmed that Dorothy Steele, 77, of Cambridge, the victim of a hit and run crash on Sunday, February 28, 2016, has died. Steele was on Columbia St., Cambridge, in her wheelchair when she was struck and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Senator Pat Jehlen (D-Somerville) and her colleagues in the Massachusetts Senate passed legislation raising the thresholds defining felony larceny and other property offenses from $250 to $1,500, putting Massachusetts in line with other states. The current larceny threshold has not been updated since 1987.

Annual Mayor’s Wellness Challenge and Somerville Recreation 5K

Curtatone announced that the City’s annual Mayor’s Wellness Challenge Kick-Off and Somerville Recreation 5K Road Race will be held on Sunday morning, April 24, starting and ending at the Somerville High School concourse, 93 Highland Avenue.  The day will begin with a 1-mile children’s “Fun Run” at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 5K adult race and walk at 11:00 a.m.
