In the vein of Mystery Science Theater, youth will provide live commentary while watching terrible films that should by all means be relegated to the deepest caverns of the Goodwill donation bin, but which have instead been unearthed for our collective viewing displeasure.

A grim welcoming committee

Seen here are some of the officers of King Solomon’s Lodge who welcomed the District Deputy Grand Master to the lodge. Also on hand as a Halloween guest PM, the Grim Reaper, who was a hit with all who were present. The dinner was catered by the Mt. Vernon Restaurant, who did and outstanding job. Pictured left to right is Wor. Jonathan Bowers, Presiding Master, with Kevin Dickinson as Senior Warden, the Grim Reaper, and Zachary Atwell, Junior Warden. In the background is Wor. Lou Domenech, the Presiding Secretary. King Solomon’s Lodge meets every third Thursday at 125 (rear) Highland Avenue in Somerville. All Master Masons are welcome to attend.

Due to forecasts of rain on Thursday, October 27, the City’s annual Haunted Hall event will be held inside the SHS atrium and gym, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Parking change on Summer Street (Spring St. to Prescott St.)

somervillelogoAs a result of multiple community meetings over Spring and Summer 2016, and a subsequent vote by the City of Somerville’s Traffic Commission, the city will switch the location of parking spots on Summer St., between Spring St. and Prescott St., from the odd side to the even side of the street, beginning the week of October 24.

Food Day Somerville 2016

Early voting at City Hall starts today

In 2016 the State of Massachusetts will hold an early voting period for the first time. This gives residents the option to skip election day lines and vote during the 12-day early voting window. Residents who do not wish to vote early can still visit their usual poll location on election day, Tuesday, November 8.
