The members of King Solomon’s Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Highland Avenue Somerville joined together in Charlestown this past Sunday, June 17, to commemorate not only the battle of Bunker Hill, but the monument itself. The annual ceremony for the monument took place before a good crowd of townie’s and visitors.

Last weekend saw five Somerville Youth Soccer League teams play in the postseason. The Boys U10-1, U10-3, U12-3 and U14-3 teams competed in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League (MYSL) Commissioner’s Cup, while the Boys U14-1 team played qualifiers for the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions (MTOC).

Tim McNabb, Brayan Andrade enter apprentice program at Bent Electric

Class of 2018 Somerville High School (SHS) graduates Tim McNabb and Brayan Andrade entered a five-year apprentice program after each student earned an I.B.E.W. Local 103 scholarship for the pre-Apprentice Partnership Program at Bent Electrical Contractors, Inc. The apprenticeship program allows participating students to become members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  I.B.E.W. Local 103 represents all of eastern Massachusetts.
