Tour Will Start from Joy Street Studios on Saturday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m.
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne, and The Somerville Arts Council (SAC), in partnership with North River Leerink LLC (NRL), presents “ART LIVES HERE!” – a public art project displaying the talents of local artists from Joy Street Studios and the Brickbottom Artist Association. In creating this vibrant outdoor “museum” to beautify Joy Street, SAC and NRL sought to capture the importance of protecting the art-making community that is unique to the Brickbottom District.

Continue to protect yourself from mosquitoes this season
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) announced that two positive human cases of West Nile virus (WNV) have been confirmed in the state. Somerville and surrounding communities are considered to be at moderate risk for WNV. Somerville residents should continue to take precautions to protect themselves against mosquito bites and mosquito-borne diseases, including WNV and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).

Like many others, my heart ached as live performance faded to oblivion during the COVID-strewn years. Since then, we have witnessed (and perhaps participated) in the post-pandemic concert boom. This renaissance proves the power of live performance and the creative force behind it.
