Koby Hirschaut is a 19-year-old sophomore English major at Endicott College. He is from Peabody Massachusetts originally. He has held an interest in writing poems since high school and his greatest poetic influence is Pablo Neruda. This poem is in the style of a “Pantoum.”
“Pantoum(?)”

Koby Hirschaut.

I am why you hate checking your phone.

Snapping neck, darting eyes, “I heard something”

I find my peace, away from your senses.

I no longer have fun with pretty things.

Snapping neck, darting eyes, “I heard something”

Did you ever notice I was gone?

I no longer have fun with pretty things.

What peculiar hopes may arise.

Did you ever notice I was gone?

I find my peace, away from your senses.

What peculiar hopes may arise.

I am why you hate checking your phone.

— Koby Hirschaut
