Led by several strong performances, the Somerville High girls cross country team delivered an impressive showing in Saturday morning’s Division 2 Eastern Mass Sectional meet at Franklin Park.

Leading the way for the Highlanders was Iaritza Menjivar, who finished 34th overall with a time of 21:34 while Pristine Mei finished 46th en route to a time of 22:06. Also competing for the Highlanders was Rita Musello-Kelliher, who placed 75th en route to a time of 23:18 followed by Maggie Langwig (86th, 23:26), Melina Garro-Duplisea (102nd, 23:53) and Meghan Lynch (105th, 24:03). Overall, the Highlanders finished 12th with a time of 343 points.

On the boys’ side, the Highlanders finished 16th overall en route to a point total of 455. Leading the way was Ed Chen, who placed 57th overall with a time of 18:14 followed by Michael Conte’s 71st place result of 18:40. Other competitors for the Highlanders included Danny Huang, who finished 96th with a time of 19:14 followed by Thomas Sullivan (10th, 19:28), Andryc Evich (123rd, 19:58), Ngawang Tsering (145th, 20:44) and Kevin Ma (152nd, 21:04.)
