The Somerville Parks and Recreation Department is launching a new program: family-friendly field trips to fun locations in and around the Boston area. Beginning in December, Parks and Recreation will sponsor trips to places like the Stone Zoo, the Blue Man Group, Museum of Fine Arts, and more. Activities are appropriate for all ages, but children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A full list of dates, activities and pricing is below and is also available at www.somervillerec.com. Participants must register at least two weeks prior to the field trip. Prices for each activity are per person, and include transportation.

December 18: Somerville City Lights Tour and Ornament Decorating at Veteran’s Memorial Rink, $10.

January 3: Museum of Science – Body Works Exhibit, $29.

January 17: Blue Man Group, $75.

February 2: Sunday Fun Day Free Skate at Veteran’s Memorial Rink.

February 7: Institute of Contemporary Art, $15.

February 14: Nashoba Valley Tubing, $50.

March 6: Nashoba Valley Tubing, $50.

March 14: Museum of Fine Arts, $25.

March 22: Sunday Fun Day Free Skate at Veteran’s Memorial Rink.

April 10: Bowling at Boston Bowl in Dorchester, $15.

May 8: Bowling at Boston Bowl in Dorchester, $15.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Cut off for registration is two weeks prior to event.
