Aldermen are asking local liquor store owners to stop selling a dangerous new alcoholic drink that packs five beers worth of booze and six coffees into one dangerous bottle.

Alderman-at-Large Bruce Desmond said the drink, 4Loko, is marketed to underage drinkers through its bright packaging and citrus flavoring.

“I do know from conversations with kids at the high school that kids in Somerville are drinking it,” Desmond said. Aldermen are asking the city solicitor what they can do to discourage 4Loko in the city.
