Bank robbery reward doubled

The Somerville Police Department and the FBI have announced that the reward for information leading to the capture of the May 1 Middlesex Federal Savings Bank robbery suspect has been doubled to $20,000.

Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is asked to call the FBI Boston Division’s Violent Crimes Task Force at 857-386-2000 or go online at tips.fbi.gov.

The suspect is described as being in his 30’s, approximately 5′-5″ in height, weighing approximately 175, and having a light complexion. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a hooded jacket with a camouflage print and a Nike logo on the front, a dark glove on his left hand, blue pants, black sports shoes, and a blue beenie style cap. He also reportedly carried a red and black Under Armour backpack.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public. If the whereabouts of the suspect are known it should be reported to the authorities immediately.
