The United Food and Commercial Workers union has announced that a tentative three-year agreement has been worked out between the Stop & Shop grocery chain and its workers, effectively ended the strike that began on April 11.

The agreement, which was reached on Sunday, includes increases in pay and sustains health coverage benefits for the food chain’s approximately 31,000 employees.

Store employees are returning to work immediately, according to union representatives.
