So here’s my take on the situation. The lack of advance planning is unbelievable. And the plan now is to fit a square peg into a round hole. Instead of taking all of the traffic from probably the city’s major thoroughfare and spreading it out, they are trying to jam it all onto Cedar Street. This makes life nice for the ‘protected’ streets (Highland Road, Willow Ave., Josephine Ave., etc.) and meanwhile anyone who lives on Cedar Street gets to enjoy all of the noise, traffic, and pollutants. And those on Spencer Ave. or Lexington Ave. who have no choice but to use Cedar Street, can’t get off the street in rush hour. They are doing the same in Medford on the other side of Broadway. This plan was definitely put together by geniuses.
