Police officers were dispatched to the Star Market on Beacon St. last week on a weapons call.

Prior to their arrival, dispatch notified the officers that a man named Angel Colon, of Framingham, had shown a black handgun to the reporting party during an argument. The reporting party also described a vehicle belonging to Colon located in the parking lot of the store.

Officer arriving on the scene engaged Colon and asked him if he had a gun, to which he answered that he did not.

Due to nature of the call, Colon was pat frisked for officer safety, at which time a loaded Black Glock firearm was located in the front right waistband of his pants.

Colon was then placed into handcuffs and an officer attempted to read him his Miranda rights, but when he was asked if he understood what he was just told he reportedly replied, “No English”.

According to reports, prior to this Colon was speaking to the officers in English without any trouble. Colon was read his Miranda rights in Spanish by another officer and was subsequently questioned in Spanish.

The officers then spoke to the reporting party, who told them that Colon had done some construction work for him recently. After paying Colon $1000, the reporting party inspected the work and did not like the quality. He wanted Colon to either fix the work or give him his money back.

The two agreed to meet in the parking lot of the Star Market where they got into a heated argument over the money. During this time, the reporting party said that Colon lifted his shirt and showed him a black handgun in his waist.

A query of the hand gun was done and came back as stolen out of Westbrook, ME.

Colon was transported to the station and booked on charges of receiving stolen property over $1200, carrying a firearm without a license, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a firearm with ammunition, and violation of city ordinance possession of a dangerous weapon.

The following items were placed into evidence: one Black Glock 22 (.40 caliber) handgun; one 15-round black magazine; 13 .40 caliber rounds of ammunition; and two .40 caliber hollow point rounds of ammunition.
