Obituary: Thomas Trane

Thomas C. Trane, proudly from Somerville passed away after a lengthy illness. Beloved Husband of Nancy A. Trane (Zwarick) with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Devoted father to Robert Trane and Nancy Trane of Somerville, John Trane of Somerville, Paul Trane and Danielle Heanue of Boston. The caring grandfather to Jessica Trane of New York City. The loving brother to Eileen Hardy and her husband Tom of Reading. Brother to Ann Hoag of Somerville. Brother to the Late David Trane. Brother-in-Law to the late Robert Zwarick. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A retired 40 year Executive at Dampney Company who traveled the world for his vocation. Tom was also a firm proponent in local community involvement and bettering his City of Somerville. Tom served as the first chairman of the Condominium Review Board, was elected to the Democratic City Committee and was a frequent attendee to Democratic Conventions. Tom was a person who believed in hard work, loyalty and in a family that stuck together.

Tom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Somerville. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Somerville YMCA, 101 Highland Ave. Somerville, MA 02143.
