Last Thursday night at the new Lucky Strikes bar in Assembly Square, the Somerville firefighters joined with MDA for a fantastic fundraiser for MDA.

Lucky Strikes, located on the ground floor of the Massachusetts General Building, is a new addition to Somerville’s Assembly Square.

The organizers, firefighters Barry Hamilton and Tommy Coppola, along with MDA representative Nicole Camacho, held the silent auction at Lucky Strikes bar in Assembly Square.

A large crowd of about 160 to 170 firefighters from various towns outside of Somerville and many DPW City of Somerville workers showed up, as well as local friends and family members, to help raise $11,000 for MDA.

It was a great event, with lots of prizes auctioned off, and great time was had by everyone present.

Somerville should be proud of the work these guys do in serving our community, not just as first responders, but to be involved with our community as a whole. Was nice to see that the room was filled with many of local Fire, Police and City DPW workers present to join in. Great work and MDA benefits from these local heroes.
