On June 7, the Somerville Public Schools Special Education Department and the Health/Physical Education Department hosted Somerville’s Special Olympics School Day Games at Somerville’s Trum Field. Approximately 140 athletes from grades K-12 participated in events such as soccer, t-ball, and various relays.

The students embodied the Special Olympics athlete oath, “Let me win.  But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt,” as they put in a lot of effort and most importantly had a great time. Special thanks to sponsors Special Olympics of MA, Pini’s Pizzeria of Somerville, Quality Graphics, and all the volunteers.
