Located in the heart of Union Square, Reliable Market has been offering Japanese and Korean groceries for over 30 years. Sushi grade fish, fresh vegetables, in house made kimchi, various prepared and frozen foods, and endless condiments to make any dish imaginable.

I must say I was very impressed with the selection of craft beers, a whole wall is dedicated to just about any style of beer that rivals that of any liquor store in the area. The sake selection is just as impressive. If you’re not sure which you would prefer, smaller bottles are available for sale.

There’s also a kitchen in the back of the store where they have pop-ups and offer ramen and other dishes. You can order take out or you have the option to dine in. I opted for the BimBimBap, it came with noodles, rice, seaweed, various other vegetables with Korean chili sauce and topped with a fried egg. Hot, creamy and full of different textures and fresh crisp vegetables. Absolutely delicious!

The second dish was a Korean Ramen, a flavorful broth with noodles, chicken, carrots, mushrooms and a number of other vegetables. A perfect bowl if you’re feeling under the weather or anytime!
