Valuable donation made to SHS

On Tuesday, May 1, representatives from Fastenal Company and Milwaukee Tool delivered a generous donation of tools and supplies to the Electrical Technologies Program at Somerville High School.

The donation will help ensure the continued growth of the program and increase the students’ ability to be competitive in the ever changing world of construction. The Students will be using the tools to accomplish their project tasks within the Electrical Technologies Program.

The students will also be using the tools to install and maintain electrical systems in classrooms around the school. Teachers are constantly requesting electrical services from the program and in the past we were unable to accomplish the tasks due to tool restrictions. With the latest donations from Fastenal, they will now be able to not only meet the increasing demands but give students the real world experiences they need to be successful when they graduate from Somerville High School.

Fastenal is also looking at possible opportunities to recruit some of these students for paid part-time/ co-op positions as well as hiring former graduates.

Special thanks to Michelle Perry and Braedon Perry (SHS Student) who reached out and made Fastenal aware of the needs, and got the ball rolling.
