Francine LaChance

Doug Holder talked with Francine LaChance at the Bloc 11 Cafe in Somerville, MA. about the upcoming Grolier Poetry Book Shop Festival in Harvard Square, Cambridge–12 Noon–May 19th…  LaChance remarked, “It has been one of the greatest experiences of my career to work with Ifeanyi Menkiti and the Grolier Poetry Book Shop. The Grolier Poetry Festival has a wonderful lineup poets, including Ifeanyi Menkiti, Director and Proprietor of the Grolier, who will read a few his poems, including one from his book Of Altair, accompanied by musicians.”

The Harvard Book Store, right around the corner from the Grolier, is a sponsor for this event. Owner Jeff Mayersohn is a very supportive neighbor and friend to the Grolier, and has been for many years.
The Grolier, now celebrating 90 years, is a non-profit, and needs financial support to move from 90 to 100 years, and beyond. As long-time friend, poet, and essayist Donald Hall (also turning 90 this year) said: “The Grolier Poetry Book Shop is the greatest poetry place in the universe. If we love poetry, the Grolier is our temple, agora, cottage, mansion, colosseum, and estate. Support it! Support it!”  For more information go to  http://www.grolierpoetrybookshop.org/
