Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services will host Elder Fair 2018 on Wednesday April 11. The free health and wellness expo offers showcases agencies and vendors that help older adults maintain safety, independence, and well-being.

Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) invites exhibitors, sponsors, and the general public to save the date for Elder Fair 2018.

Now in its 19^th year, the free health and wellness expo will showcase useful information, services, and government programs for older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities on Wednesday, April 11.

Elder Fair traditionally features a mix of health screenings, and the opportunity to meet with agencies and vendors that help older adults maintain safety, independence, and well-being, explained SCES Director of Outreach and Community Relations Nathan Lamb.

Roughly 60 agencies and vendors hosted exhibits at Elder Fair last year, and Lamb expects another strong showing in 2018.

“The community has really embraced this event, and we look forward to joining with our exhibitors to help connect our friends and neighbors with resources that can help people Age in Place,” said Lamb.

The expo will also feature several SCES programs, such as:

The Aging Information Center – free information and guidance on aging-related issues.

Adult Family Care – a MassHealth funded program that supports live-in caregivers.

Volunteer Programs – Medical Advocates, Medical Escorts, SeniorPet and more!

Elder Fair 2018 will take place at the Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill, 30 Washington St. in Somerville, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.
