The Somerville Media Center produced and hosted the only Mayoral Debate at the center on October 23, 2017. Candidates for Somerville Mayor, incumbent Joe Curtatone and challenger Payton Corbett, faced off in the 28-minute program moderated by WBZ – TV and Radio political reporter, Jon Keller.

    Well,that was lopsided.The mayor mopped the floor with that guy. Still wish we got more substance. No one mentioned the GLX. I’d like someone to address retail rents before they climb so high we lose unique local businesses. Curbside composting also seems like a logical next step for the city.

    As for Corbett, if his jokes were so funny, why did he take them down? Also, he clearly hasn’t been inside a Somerville school to see exactly how diverse they are. I’ve raised Argenziano kids so I know better. And he says he wants good jobs but then complains about everything bringing good jobs into the city. Just no.
