Somerville Schools is excited to introduce Wellness Champions at their K-8 schools this year through the PEP grant.

Each Wellness Champion will be registering their school for the Healthy Schools Program through Alliance for a Healthier Generation in order to assess the current health and wellness environment at their school and develop an action plan to support the mission of creating a culture of healthy lifestyles among our students, staff and families.

If you are interested in supporting these efforts, please reach out to your Wellness Champion about joining the Wellness Team.

A brief survey will also be distributed to find out what events, programs, activities and clubs are already being implemented at each school and what additional initiatives could be put in place.

The Champion at each school will also be promoting the 95210 message within the school, so watch for messaging as well as tips and resources related to these 5 healthy daily behaviors (9 hours of sleep, 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables, no more than 2 hours of recreational screen time, 1 hour of physical activity, and 0 sugary beverages)!
