Police were dispatched to P.A. Lounge last Saturday night on reports of a possible assault with injury.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the victim of the alleged assault who told them that a short time earlier he was on the dance floor inside the bar listening to a live band and slam dancing in a mosh pit when he felt a hard object hit his head from behind. The man said that he felt intense pain and what felt like sand pouring down from atop his head. When he checked his head it was gushing blood from where he felt the impact.

The man’s girlfriend did not see who had perpetrated the act but did see broken glass on the floor and assisted the victim off the dance floor.

A witness reportedly told the officers that as the victim danced in the mosh pit he bumped into several patrons around the dance floor and at some point he bumped into a male patron, later identified as Eric Courtemanche, of Hudson, NH.

After the bump, the witness reportedly observed Courtemanche raise an object which was believed to be made of glass and slam it against the victim’s head.

The officers located Courtemanche inside the club and asked for his side of the story.

Courtemanche reportedly said that the victim had bumped into him and that this caused a cut on his hand. The officers reported that the cut was likely caused by the breaking glass from the assault on the victim.

Courtemanche was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
