Letter to the Editor – March 30

On March 30, 2016, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

Dear readers,

george landers

As I near my retirement date of April 3, 2016, I want to say goodbye to all of my former working colleagues, and a special “Thank You” to Mayor Joe Curtatone. I have been honored to work for this Mayor since the beginning of his tenure. The changes he has helped implemented in Somerville is staggering. I sincerely thank him for his trust he placed in me these many years, and I have never been so proud to be a “Villen.”

To the residents of our city, and the many people I have had the pleasure of interacting with the last sixteen (16) years, either @ ISD, the DPW, or the Housing Division of OHCD, please know that I always tried my best to be fair, and to treat everyone with respect.

I will miss the people I worked with, but I look forward to spending more time with my wife Joani, and our new grandsons Dominic (Nico) Calioro and Samuel (Sam) Landers.

It has been a wonderful “ride,” and I will see you in the neighborhoods and squares of Somerville.
