An old city election political sign showed up under siding that was removed recently while the homeowner was remolding their home.

Gus Barrasso was an alderman here in the city in the late 60’s and early 70’s, in Winter Hill, Ward 4.

The sign, as you can see, was found intact under the covering all these years, even with his slogan clearly legible.

It was a very large ward at the time, consisting of 6 precincts.

Many remember Proctor School, behind the Armory on Highland; Forster School on Sycamore; Healey School, Grimmons School in Ten Hills; St. Polycarp Men’s Club on Temple and Jacques Street and then on School Street at the former Winter Hill Baptist Church.
