A Malden man was arrested Aug. 11 after he allegedly stole $590 worth of electric wire from Home Depot and tried to fight responding security officers.

Paul Murray, 34, of 55 Hunting St., Malden, was arrested and charged with possession of a class E drug, larceny over $250 and a warrant charge.

When police came to the store, Murray had already been fighting the store’s loss prevention staff, police said. When police searched Murray they allegedly found a bottle of prescription pills containing the anti-heroin drug suboxene and other pills.
