Somerville skater to compete in Bay State Games

Somerville resident Kaleigh Conte will be participating in the Bay State Games for the Metro girls hockey team this summer. Conte is entering her sophomore year as a defenseman at Phillips Exeter Academy. This is Conte’s second summer skating with the Metro team.

The Metro team also includes Adrienne Ashe (Cambridge), Bella Corcione (Cambridge), Bridget Crane (Arlington Catholic), Katherine Crane (Arlington Catholic), Natasha Davis (Cambridge), Maggie Flaherty (St. Mary’s of Lynn), Bella Jaffe (Cambridge), Alexandra Keane (Arlington Catholic), Abigail Knight (Arlington Catholic), Erin King (Arlington Catholic), Eve Laden Mauro (Boston Latin Academy), Katelin McCallum (Cambridge), Reid Nichols (East Coast Junior Wizards), Laura Shea (Arlington), Rose Sullivan (Matignon), and Grace Toner (Cambridge). The Metro team is coached by Medford High Girl’s varsity assistant hockey coach Josh Glionna.

The four day tournament starts Thursday, July 9 and concludes with a medal round Sunday, July 12. The tournament takes place at the Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro, MA.

The Bay State Games is an Olympic style competition held annually since 1982.
