For the Somerville Storm’s 14 and under squad, there might be a light at the end of the tunnel. In a rematch against the Wilmington Wildcats, the Storm battled to an 8-8 tie on Monday.

At the plate, Brianna Dell’Isola, Dyani Davis and Haley Rao all contributed, delivering crucial hits to keep the Storm well within striking distance while Jennifer Toner, Andrea Rao and Deidre Matthews also contributed. Also contributing was Katie Medrano and Amolee Hawkins.

After both teams traded leads, the Storm closed within two runs before adding another score in the later innings to close within one. With darkness approaching, both teams remained tied as the contest was called due to darkness.

Despite a solid effort, the Storm suffered a tough 10-3 defeat to the Salem, New Hampshire Sidewinders at Trum Field last Tuesday. Offensively, Davis and Dell’Isola led the way, recording several hits apiece while Ashley Dean, Haley Rao and Jennie White also contributed at the plate.

After both teams erupted with rallies in the early innings, the Sidewinders grabbed a six run lead before the Storm closed the gap on key hits by Dell’Isola and Davis. Securing the win, the Red Raiders added clutch insurance runs in the later innings.

Battling back, the Storm emerged with a 12-8 slug fest victory over the Everett Riptide. Offensively, Davis and Dell’Isola led the way, recording three hits apiece apiece while Ashley Dean, Haley Rao, Katie Medrano and Jennie White also contributed at the plate. The Storm faced the Medford Magic on Monday and the Charlestown B squad on Tuesday.
