Going through some old boxes recently, Lynne Lenoir, a lifelong 4th generation resident of the city, found some of these interesting photos of old Somerville.

From the parade of 5 former mayors on Highland Avenue to a picture of Hodgdon Real Estate & Insurance, she thought she would share them with us.

Her grandfather had a sign company back in the day and her father Al, Jr. was in Real Estate. Lynne, herself an RN, is proud of her heritage and these pictures.

The picture of the happy girls from Somerville High was taken in 1906. The girl in the middle is Esther Phelan.

Lynne was over in Medford not to long ago and purchased the other Somerville picture book, which pre-dates the one done in the 70’s. Some of the pictures in the book are displayed here.

We thank Lynne for allowing us to show the rest of the city some of the old time pictures. Lynne is very proud of her family and the positive glimpse that they contributed of our City of Somerville.
