A Woburn man was arrested July 22 after he skipped out on a $256 bill at a Davis Square bar and threw punches at the air from a boxer’s stance when an officer tried to detain him, police said.

Richard Connors, 25, said he was at the Burren “drinking with a bunch of buddies who left him with the bill,” according to a police report.

As Officer Yves Jean Jacques explained to a Burren security guard the civil process for claiming the money owed, Connors raised his arms in a boxing stance, threw punches in the air while saying he would not pay the bill, police said.

“Mr. Connors wasn’t even fit to stand upright on his own let alone…throw a punch,” Jean-Jacques wrote  in the arrest report.

Connors continued to shout profanities after he was placed in handcuffs, police said.

He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and defrauding an innkeeper over $100.
