The Mount Vernon Restaurant in Somerville will play host to the newest comedy room in Massachusetts called “The  Joke is On You” on Saturday night March 29 at 8:30 pm.

Paul Nardizzi (appearances on Conan O’Brien), Gary Leavitt (“The Wizard of Stars”/celebrity impressionist) and the “Wicked Funny” Dan Miller will be performing opening night.

This new room is the idea of Leavitt, who has played “Bozo The Clown” for FOX, worked on several Boston Radio Stations as a comedian/celebrity impersonator, and is working on a TV Pilot with Nardizzi.

“The Mount Vernon has always been one of my favorite restaurants,” said Leavitt, who grew up in Peabody, resides in Woburn but has cousins who live in Somerville. “They have a nice neat little function room where I’ve entertained in over the years and I always felt it would be perfect for an intimate setting for comedy. We plan on providing some of Boston’s very best comedians for each show. We’ll start out monthly and hopefully work into a weekly room.”
