somervillelogoThe City of Somerville Office of Assessors reminds all residential property owners that the deadline for filing statutory, residential or Community Preservation Act (CPA) exemption for Fiscal Year 2014 is April 1, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

The residential exemption is a property tax break for owners who made their Somerville property their principal residence as of January 1, 2013. The CPA exemption allows for a full exemption from the surcharge if owners are income eligible. Statutory exemptions include property tax breaks for seniors, veterans, widows, and other eligible residents. More information on all exemptions, and qualification information, can be found at www.somervillma.gov/departments/finance/assessing. If you have additional questions, call the Assessor’s Office at 617-625-6600 ext. 3100.
