A fight at a Central St. mental health facility was reported to police last Wednesday, Christmas Day.

Investigating officers were informed that a client, Philip MacLeod, 68, had allegedly assaulted another resident at the facility, reportedly shoving him several times and spitting on him.

The alleged victim said that he was walking down a hallway in the faciilty when he was accosted by MacLeod. A staff member reportedly told police that he heard MacLeod shouting and saw him spitting on the victim.

Police officers went to MacLeod’s room to question him and later reported that they detected a faint odor of alcohol on him.

MacLeod responded to police questioning by making offensive remarks, according to reports.

MacLeod was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery
