Greater Boston Labor Council backs Connolly

The incumbent in the Ward 6 Alderman’s race secured the endorsement of an influential labor group September 19.

John M. "Jack" Connolly said his campaign received a huge boost Tuesday when he won the official support of the Greater Boston Labor Council.

"I am thrilled and truly humbled by the support the Greater Boston Labor Council has shown me and my campaign. I have made a commitment to the working families of my ward throughout my career in public service. That is why this recognition by the council means so much to me," he said.

Connolly also said the council’s endorsement means funds for his campaign bid and much needed support on election day.

Connolly is pitted against Rebekah Gewritz in the 2005 municipal election for Ward 6 Alderman, to be held November 8.
