Longtime Somerville resident Wilbur Smith was the recipient of a citation of congratulations by President of the Board of Aldermen Tom Taylor, the full board of aldermen and the Mayor during Thursday evening’s weekly Somerville Board of Aldermen meeting.

Wilbur spoke at the presentation saying that he didn’t know why he was bestowed this honor but credited his long happy life to eating the right foods.       After the presentation in the alderman chambers, Wilbur was invited back to Mayor Curtatone’s office for a glass of fruit juice and a chat about early Somerville with the mayor, they  chatted about Wilbur’s early childhood growing up in Somerville during the early 1900’s.  Mayor Curtatone also presented Wilbur with an official pin of the City of Somerville while in the his office.
