Somerville girls track update

Results of the Somerville High School girls track meet held at Dilboy Stadium on Thursday, April 5, are as follows:

Nicole Genard set a new SHS record in the long jump of 18’5” – breaking her own record of 18’0 set when she was a freshman in 2009. Genard also placed first in the javelin throw with a distance of 121’0.

Michel-le Meranda placed first in the 400 L.H. with a 75.0, as well as marking a 17.9 in the 100m hurdles.

Melina Garro-Duplisea took first place in the 2 mile with a 13:13.

Gelynne Berger placed first in the 100 with a 13.2.

Pristine Mei  took top spot in the mile with a 6:23.

Natalie David  led in the shot put with a distance of 31’5.

Melissa Baptista leapt to a 4’8 victory in the high jump and marked a 32’11 in the triple jump.

“It was a good opening win over a much improved Everett team,” said Coach Charlie O’Roarke. “We still have a lot of work to do before we get to the big meets against Malden and Cambridge.”
